AGENDA: With winter 2013/2014 now officially in the books, the Oregon Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) will take a look back at all the action of the past winter. For the first time in nearly 25 years, Portland experienced two significant arctic blasts and snow events in the same winter, with record setting cold overnight low temperatures in December followed by record setting cold daytime high temperatures in February. Oregon also recorded it’s first -40F or lower overnight low since December 1990. How much snow did Portland get this past winter? How rare is it to see two arctic blasts in the same winter? Is there a return cycle of snowy winters in Portland? Come hear all the details as we explore how it all came together.

We hope to see you all there!  If you have any questions, contact Oregon AMS President Steve Pierce at stevejpierce@comcast.net or click here for our contact form.
