May 2022 Election Meeting Coming Up

Our annual election is off and running. We have seven (7) Oregon AMS members running for the office of councilor this year. Four (4) of these candidates are female, very well qualified, and have never been elected to the executive council before. This is a new record for the Oregon AMS. Wait until you read their candidate statements. Check your email ASAP for your ballot. It was sent out by Mark Nelsen over the weekend. Check your spam and junk folders too. You only have 2 weeks to return your ballot, so vote now! All ballots need to be returned via email to the email address on your ballot. Only currently paid members received a ballot and the renewal deadline has passed for this season.

Guest Speakers: Oregon AMS members April Vogt and Jenni Hastings.

April will present: “Getting a job after college in meteorology and what is it like to work as an entry level meteorologist.” 

Jenni will present: “Partnering with CoCoRaHS and the National Weather Service to Engage Oregon’s Incarcerated Students in Atmospheric Sciences”

We are looking forward to seeing you all one last time for our season ending meeting. We will also announce the results of our annual election.
