February AMS Meeting

What: A video journey of ancient rivers of the Pacific Northwest, presented by Prof. Nick Zentner (Central Washington University). Nick will NOT be here in person, but we have his presentation on video and will play it on the large screen in the room. If you enjoy anything to do with early formations of planet earth, geology and hydrology, this is your meeting! I have previewed the video and it is great! Total run time is 57 minutes. Come eat, drink and watch (or sleep) through this great video! No RSVP is needed, however a dinner purchase is encouraged at this meeting.

When: Tuesday, February 18th @ 7pm  (Social hour at 6pm)
Where: McMenamins Restaurant (Lloyd District) – 1504 N.E. Broadway, Portland, Oregon 97232. We have the closed-door banquet room reserved.

Parking: Park one block north of Broadway (in the neighborhood for free) if you can not find available metered parking on Broadway. Meters end at 7pm.

March AMS Meeting
What: “Winter Weather Recap” and annual Oregon AMS Election Nomination Meeting. KPTV-12 Chief Meteorologist Mark Nelsen will once again take his annual look back at the 2019/20 winter that is quickly coming to a close. So, how did all of those OMSI winter weather forecasts pan out? Come enjoy some great food and good conversations at this fun annual meeting on the westside.
When: Wednesday, March 11th 2020 (6pm-7pm social hour) 7pm Meeting!
Where: Golden Valley Brewery in Beaverton. 1520 NW Bethany Blvd, Beaverton, OR 97006. All ages are welcome! We will meet upstairs in the meeting room. Exit Hwy 26 westbound at Cornell Rd. Driving directions: http://tinyurl.com/lct8vmj

No RSVP is needed, however a dinner purchase is encouraged at this meeting. Menus will be provided on the night of the meeting ranging from $10-$18 a plate. Same routine as last year!

ANNUAL OREGON AMS ELECTION 2020/21 — The March Oregon AMS meeting will also serve as our annual “Executive Council Election Nomination” meeting. Any “current” Oregon AMS member who would like to nominate another current Oregon AMS member for a seat on the seven (7) member executive council for the 2020/21 season is welcome to do so at this meeting. You must attend this meeting and place your nomination in person to be considered in the upcoming election. All positions on the executive council are up for nominations each year. Please check ahead with any Oregon AMS member(s) you plan to nominate before the meeting, to make sure they will accept your nomination.
