The unrivalled cyclone gave birth to the Asian log export market and the Oregon wine industry. In his book entitled, “A Deadly Wind,” John weaves a compelling story spiced with human drama, Cold War implications, Pacific Northwest history and the science of severe weather. His best-selling book was published by Oregon State University press in October 2018.

The 27th Annual Oregon AMS “Winter Weather
Forecast Conference”
is slated for
Saturday, October 26th 2019 beginning at a NEW start
time of
9AM due to a special guest speaker which you will not
want to miss. We will still plan to end about 12 noon. We know this is a little
longer meeting this year, but we are confident that you will enjoy our
special guest speaker that we are bringing in from out of state. Yes, that is a
called a “tease” in the TV world. More details to come! Are you
interested in one of our limited forecaster presentation “slots?” Want to
be vendor and reserve a table? If so, please keep an eye out in early

those ASAP in September!

That is the latest for now!
