Next Meeting: Climate Change Issues of Hawaii

The next great Oregon AMS meeting is next Tuesday, January 23rd at 7pm at Stark Street Pizza in Portland. Former Oregon AMS president and PCC Professor Kyle Dittmer will give a presentation entitled, “Climate Change Issues of Hawaii.”  Kyle interviewed a climate change researcher at the University of Hawaii-Hilo about current and future climate change issues in Hawaii (and some of the Pacific Islands), impacts to society and infrastructure and some sectors, solutions being developed and implemented, and compare with the climate issues of the PNW.  We won’t get into the causes of climate change.  We may have a Skype Q&A session with the Hawaiian professor after the presentation.  Come hear more…and come dressed in your best Hawaiian clothes! Bring your appetite too. The pizza is amazing!
