A Piece of Weather History

In the 1960’s, KGW meteorologist Jack Capell put together a two piece KGW promotional set that consisted of a vinyl record and large weather map. These items were handed out together. Those who were able to acquire one of these sets could listen to the record while following along on the map, learning about weather patterns all across the United States. This particular set was found in the basement of a Vancouver, WA. home in 2016. It had been stored in a box for more than 50 years and was likely never listened to. Although as time has passed and the audio has degraded in quality, it is still enjoyable to listen to while viewing the map. We hope you enjoy these two downloads. The audio file in approx 75MB.

I had this when I was a kid. I maybe still do, but would be hard pressed to put my finger on it…one accumulates a lot of stuff over the years. 🙂
