VOLCANIC ASH FALL FORECASTING IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST
John Ewert is Scientist-in-Charge of the USGS Cascades Volcano Observatory in Vancouver, WA. John’s presentation will focus on volcanoes of the Pacific Northwest and the USGS’s recent work on developing an ash fall model, “Ash3d.” He will discuss the role of meteorology and how data from weather models are used in ash fall forecasts.
When: Tuesday, February 3rd 2015. Happy hour 6-7pm and formal meeting from 7-9pm.
Where: McMenamins Restaurant (Lloyd District) – 1504 N.E. Broadway, Portland, Oregon 97232. We have the closed-door banquet room reserved.
Details: Please come hungry and thirsty! You can order on your own and the food is delicious!
Parking For Free: Park one block north of Broadway (in the neighborhood for free) if you can not find available parking on Broadway or in the McMenamins lot itself.
